CHANGE BEGINS WITH YOU

A story was told of a drunk whose marriage and family was unstable, due to this act. He always constituted nuisance to the neighborhood, a disgrace he was to the family. Fast forward to some years late, his two sons now grown up came back to their former neighborhood. His First son returned as a Drunk while the Second son returned a successful young man. They were asked the reason for their current status. The First son replied and said, “If you see my Father you’ll know why”, The Second also replied and said the exact same words as his brother; “If you see my Father you’ll know why”. They both gave the same answer but the Second needed to change the “status quo”, he never followed the lifestyle his father led, he needed a change and thus decided to break out and make something good out of his life. It doesn’t matter how your background might be, you may come from a violent family, or if your father is an evil man or perhaps your mother is an adulterer; IT DOESN’T MATTER!! What matters is your decision to either live the life they lead or like the second son “Change the Status Quo”. Truth be told, family background can have adverse effect on one’s life only if that person allows it to happen. You are a different being; that my father was a wretched man, doesn’t mean I’ll be wretched; that I wasn’t opportune to have a university degree or any educational qualifications at all, doesn’t mean I’ll not be successful in life; it all lies in your mindset. Be determined that you need change and you’ll see yourself automatically yielding to that change. Break out from that your comfort zone; and most especially hold God tenaciously, cos He alone has the final say.
