*DAILY DEW 10/OCTOBER/2023* *TRUE TEST OF FOLLOWING JESUS* _Key Bible Text:_ *"And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men. And straightway they forsook their nets, and followed him."* (Mark 1:17-18 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ In the final analysis, the evidence of truly following Jesus, is actually fishing men! The opposite is also true. The absence of ability to fish for men is the evidence of lack of correct following of Jesus. You can't change this truth. You can only accept it or reject it but it is the truth nonetheless. Since you claimed to be a follower of Jesus, how many souls have you caught for His kingdom? Whereas some, like Simon & Andrew must leave their nets (which represented their day to day source of income) to become full time fishers of men. Others, however, only need to leave their nets temporarily but often to go fishing for men! The best is even to make your "nets" a type of bait for fishing men! I therefore agree with Pastor Ebele UzoPeters as follows: "Every Christian should learn how to desire to see souls saved. Every unsaved person is a mission field regardless of who they are. Our great quest is their salvation ABOVE ALL ELSE. Above celebrity status, influence, money, fashion, science, power. Whatever. The SOUL is what matters most. And without Jesus, it is NOTHING. What shall it profit a man if he gain the whole world and lose his soul? Nothing.
