*DAILY DEW 24/FEBRUARY/2024* A Jonadab or A Jonathan. (IV) _Key Bible Text:_ *"She took the pan and emptied it out before him, but he refused to eat. And Amnon said, Send everyone out from me. So everyone went out from him."* (2 Samuel 13:9 (The Amplified)) _Bible Insight:_ 2 Samuel 13:6 So Amnon lay down and pretended to be sick; and when the king came to see him, Amnon said to the king, I pray you, let my sister Tamar come and make me a couple of cakes in my sight, that I may eat from her hand. 2 Samuel 13:7 Then David sent home and told Tamar, Go now to your brother Amnon's house and prepare food for him. 2 Samuel 13:8 So Tamar went to her brother Amnon's house, and he was in bed. And she took dough and kneaded it and made cakes in his sight and baked them. Everything is fine until you have the spirit of discernment. The lesson is that it takes the spirit of discernment to avoid being a victim in the plots of deceitful men. The King didn't dicern the mischief of his son. The sister also did not discern it. Ordinarily, we should not necessarily be in need to be wary of being decieved by one's son or by one's siblings.
