*DAILY DEW 30/DECEMBER/2024* *Synergy MISSIONS* (2) _Key Bible Text:_ *"He that is not with me is against me: and he that gathereth not with me scattereth."* (Luke 11:23 (KJV)) _Bible Insight_ Jesus repeated that principle when some disgruntled fellow accused Him of casting out demons by the aid of devil. Jesus answered that it was not possible for satan to cast out satan because every house divided against itself cannot stand. While this principle rose in response to such failed attempt at demonizing the power of Jesus, it is nonetheless a very important principle in missions. You don't cast out devils in the nations without the joint efforts of believers across nations. Anyone who is not actively gathering in souls by means of joint efforts in missions is actually scattering. It is not possible to be neutral. Neutrality is not only incriminating but an act of sabotage and treason against God's kingdom. Any sign of indifference is an unconscious act of scattering when one is supposed to be gathering with Christ. Unfortunately, many believers are in this category of indifference towards missions. *DAILY DEW 29/DECEMBER/2024* *Synergy MISSIONS* _Key Bible Text:_ *"And John answered and said, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name; and we forbad him, because he followeth not with us. And Jesus said unto him, Forbid [him] not: for he that is not against us is for us."* (Luke 9:49-50 (KJV)) _Bible Insight_ JESUS will not have his disciples forbid someone casting out devils in His name because the person was not among those named disciples or directly instructed by Him. His reason was simple: "HE THAT IS NOT AGAINST US is for us". This buttresses the synergy principle of MISSIONS. The Missions that must take the Gospel to the ends of the earth is the one that every believer considers themselves as stake holders. The laborers that are needed in the harvest/missions fields are those who do the work first as for the Lord-- and not to make a name for themselves. Missions succeeds when everyone identifies with it. *DAILY DEW 28/DECEMBER/2024* *PRAYER WATCH* (2) _Key Bible Text:_ *"Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly [is] great, but the labourers [are] few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest."* (Luke 10:2 (KJV)) _Bible Insight_ One of the specific things we are told and taught to pray for IS for increase of labourers into the harvest fields. A great harvest should enjoy great labour of many labourers. But unfortunately in this particular harvest, labourers are lacking. And God asks us to pray for their provision. One response will be to pray. And to pray for more labourers. But who are these laborers? Labourers are witnesses, missionaries, ministers of the Gospel, financial partners, and intercessors. Another response will be to take the challenge first, to be an answer to the prayer. How can you be praying for more labourers when you yourself have not taken up a part in the labour? _MEDITATION:_ *When last did you pray asking God to send laborers into the harvest field?! Sometimes, we read of times Jesus expressed an emphatic need from his disciples. In this case it was the need to keep watch with him in prayer for just an hour! Prayer is an invitation to partner with God in what he is doing on earth. When you pray, you are partnering with God to achieve his purposes on earth. _MEDITATION:_ *If Jesus asked one favor of you, will you do it!? Well then, he asks you now. *DAILY DEW 26/DECEMBER/2024* *REPENT-- Don't PRETEND* _Key Bible Text:_ *"And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly."* (Matthew 26:75 (KJV)) _Bible Insight_ ANOTHER hallmark of Christianity is practicing REPENTANCE! IF God's word does not move you to repentance when you find that you are going contrary to its directions, you are not a child of God. Period. A true believer is one who takes correction from God's word & is quick to repent. Don't pretend about whatever you have done that is against God's word! Don't think it does not matter. *DAILY DEW 25/DECEMBER/2024* *DENY SELF--- NOT CHRIST* _Key Bible Text:_ *"Peter said unto him, Though I should die with thee, yet will I not deny thee. Likewise also said all the disciples."* (Matthew 26:35 (KJV)) _Bible Insight_ ANOTHER hallmark of Christianity is NOT DENYING CHRIST BUT SELF! A believer will always be placed among two options all through life-- deny self or deny Christ! Unfortunately, you can't be free from this two-- you either obey one or the other. When you deny self, you are obeying Christ. When you obey or follow self or flesh, in a sense, you are denying Christ. Peter indulged for a moment in the act of self preservation, so he thought. He distanced and disassociated himself from Christ because he was consumed with thoughts of fear of being arrested and dealt with as Christ was. In the end, while confessing like Peter did (in Matthew 26:35) is actually good, it is not enough. Peter told Jesus he would never deny him but Christ knowing all things, forwarned him. He should have been more careful. Thank God! *DAILY DEW 24/DECEMBER/2024* *NO OFFENCE AGAINST CHRIST* (GOD IS NOT YOUR PROBLEM) _Key Bible Text:_ *"Peter answered and said unto him, Though all [men] shall be offended because of thee, [yet] will I never be offended?"* (Matthew 26:33 (KJV)) _Bible Insight_ ANOTHER hallmark of Christianity is NEVER TAKING OFFENCE AGAINST CHRIST! LIFE will push you to the wall. Challenges will attack you like an armed robber. A lot will happen that will want to make you question God or lose faith in God or get angry at God. But never never never let anything that life throws at you make you get offended with God. Apart from it being a useless or unhelpful reaction towards life's challenges, it actually makes the situation worse. Because it is okay(normal) for life to be against you, while God is on your side. But if life is against you and you also allow the pressure to make you get angry with God, then life truly is against you and you are against yourself. What other hope do you have outside of Christ? *DAILY DEW 23/DECEMBER/2024* *FORSAKING ALL* _Key Bible Text:_ *"Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore?"* (Matthew 19:27 (KJV)) _Bible Insight_ ANOTHER hallmark of Christianity is FORSAKING ALL ELSE! If CHRIST does not cost you the loss of everything else, you have not started. This is the principle of laying all on the altar. Living sacrifices don't have anything to hold unto save Christ. Peter, a true missionary disciple of Christ, wanted to know what they stand to gain haven left all to follow Christ. The lesson here is, HAVE WE TRULY LEFT ALL TO FOLLOW CHRIST? TAKE forgiveness away, and you don't have salvation. Take forgiveness away, and Christ has not accomplished anything. Therefore anyone who claims to follow Christ, must know that Jesus CHRIST is a forgiver. If you don't walk and live in forgiveness, there is no forgiveness from the Father for you. *DAILY DEW 21/DECEMBER/2024* *Peter, the missionary* (5) _Key Bible Text:_ *"And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart, And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light."* (Matthew 17:1-2 (KJV)) _Bible Insight_ Proper discipleship is the backbone of a fruitful missionary lifestyle. Jesus understood this and perfected this example. He discipled Peter (Among others, of course) by bringing him closer. Jesus could have gone for this all important encounter without any of the disciples but then, in a sense, the purpose of the transfiguration experience would not have been completed. When you read other accounts of the transfiguration mountain experience, you will see where the cloud overshadowed them, Elijah and Moses taken away, and a heavenly voice declaring, "This is my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased" Therefore, it is safe to say, that the transfiguration mountain experience was not particularly for JESUS BUT FOR PETER and the two others so that they can be AUTHENTIC AND INTIMATE WITNESSES and missionaries.
