Guard your heart! The strange (wo)man manipulates the unguarded heart. From the earliest opportunity, propose in your heart to never have anything to do with the strange (wo)man. Propose in your heart to live a sexually pure life. Propose in your heart to never trust yourself when it comes to issues of sexual immorality and temptations. Don't fancy and don't indulge it. Build a mindset that never takes for granted issues of the strange (wo)man! 15. Many strong (wo)men have been slain! Godly sisters with great potential of raising godly families and doing exploits for God have been slain on the altar of the strange man! What are you going after? In life, if something or someone is not going after you, you are going after something or someone. Or even both at the same time! What are you going after? Not every mention or use of the word love will be God glorifying. Even though "God is Love", there is no God or godliness in many cases when love is claimed among men. Many "I love you" is nothing but the language of the strange (wo)man. But there is a place for godly exercise of love where one can indeed fill one love till the morning- that's within marriage. 11. The goodman (woman) is not at home. The strange (wo)man is full of cheating and deceit. They cannot be trusted and are always finding excuses to defile or breach their marriage vows. This would mean to store it up in our heart and have it deeply embedded in us. Writing is not as simple as reading. Writing forces or exerts more energy. Writing involves the writer more. You think as you write and you ensure what you write is properly put. Our hearts will be written upon anyways. It is for us to intentionally direct what we write on the tables of our heart. We must be determined to write God's word upon our hearts otherwise other things will occupy the tables of our heart! -To call wisdom your sister & understanding your kinswoman! But today's passage reminded me that God want me to keep His word as the apple of my eyes. It is such a needed reminder. We come to God with a PARASITIC mindset a lot. It is always about what to get or gain, what to receive from God and how God will bless us. We usually don't remember or consider that God needs us to come to him with a SYMBIOTIC mindset. He wants to benefit from our lives too. We are the apple of His eyes, so he wants us to keep His word as the apple of our own eyes too. He loved us first, so we should love him in return. *DAILY DEW 6/JUNE/2024* *RUN* (2) _Key Bible Text:_ *Can one go upon hot coals, and his feet not be burned? So he that goeth in to his neighbour's wife; whosoever toucheth her shall not be innocent.* (Proverbs 6:28-29 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ This question is very paramount: Whoever steps upon hot coals will have a story to tell and it will not be a pleasant one. No one who touches another's wife will be found innocent. The same is true for anyone who touches another's husband. I like to view this in the actual as well as in the potential sense. To touch another's wife, therefore simply means any lady you are not married. Until marriage/wedding, every lady, including your fiancée, is another man's wife. When you eventually marry her, you become her man! This applies for the man as well. Whoever touches a man or lady they are not married to, shall not be innocent. We call these fornicators and adulterers respectively. The wise thing to do is avoid situations and scenario that can lead to a compromise. Lone night walks, lurking in ungodly places, visiting bars and restaurants together or even alone, going out for cinema as a "couple" at night, etc. The wise thing to do is to RUN! *DAILY DEW 30/MAY/2024* *SEVEN THINGS THE LORD HATES* _Key Bible Text:_ *These six things the Lord hates, indeed, seven are an abomination to Him* (Proverbs 6:16 (AMPLIFIED)) _Bible Insight:_ God is Love. For a God who is love, it is important to mark and avoid the things he hates. Proverbs 6:17 A proud look [the spirit that makes one overestimate himself and underestimate others], a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 1. PRIDE. God is very very very emphatic about this. One thing he doesn't stomach is people who are proud. What is making you overestimate yourself and underestimate others? Repent! 2. LIES. In a world where a lot of people subscribe to the philosophy that "the end justifies the means", deceit and lying has become what people enjoy doing these days. They want to "cover up", pretend, "package", etc and sometimes they go the extreme length of lying to achieve their aims. We are reminded today, that God hates it! 3. MURDER. This is extreme. Most of us should think we can never kill. But it is good to think of this as Jesus thought of it. How? Mathew 5:21,22 comes to mind. Anger without cause or without restraint is of equal consequences as murder before God. They are always thinking up something cruel and evil, and they stir up trouble. Deceit is the strategy of evil and cruel people who delight in afflicting others with trouble! Greedy people lie and deceive others to get what they want. It suffice to say that God is the perfect record keeper who knows how to take care of such fellows. They may think that they have gotten away, but sadly, they don't know that self deceit is already leading them to destruction. Avoid the ways of deceivers and liars. Train yourself to be truthful in a world where lying has been normalized and habitualized. Ours is now a world where those who wish to insist on the truth are fast becoming endangered species. If you are one, brace up to do more because you are closer to fulfilling 2 Timothy 3:12. *DAILY DEW 28/MAY/2024* *GUARDED VIGILANCE* _Key Bible Text:_ *Sleep a little. Doze a little. Fold your hands and twiddle your thumbs. Suddenly, everything is gone, as though it had been taken by an armed robber.* (Proverbs 6:10-11 (Message)) _Bible Insight:_ You will not always have that opportunity! No one always has the opportunity to do something! Opportunity is a scare commodity that you dont always get to predict or determine their availability. Whatever you have opportunity to do, don't let it slip through your fingers! Stop sleeping on opportunities! They say POOR means, passing over opportunities regularly! The best model to adopt, is to be on a 24/7 prepared mode to take on opportunities that come your way. Most failures in life are not because of lack of opportunities but because of misused and abused and underused opportunities. By the way, opportunities don't always come in the way you expect. Sometimes, opportunities come disguised as responsibilities and extra work to be done. Vigilance requires having a good sense of what is needed to be done at any given moment. Mary and Martha had the opportunity to be visited by Jesus.
