A visitation from God 2. An impartation from men of God Good examples are: - Moses vs Joshua God supernaturally encountered Moses, but Moses laid hands on Joshua (Num 27:18; Deut 34:9). - Samuel vs David God supernaturally visited Samuel, but Samuel anointed Saul and David (1 Sam 3:1; 10:1; 16:12). - Elijah vs Elisha We don’t know how Elijah became a prophet, but most likely, it was supernaturally. Elisha became a prophet by receiving a double portion of Elijah’s spirit (2 Kings 2:9). - Paul and Timothy Paul had Ananias lay hands on him by prophets and teachers (Acts 9:17; 13:1-3). Timothy received the gifts of God through Paul and elders (1 Tim 4:14; 2 Tim 1:6). Excessive eating: Eating more than necessary at night will only weaken your body. 2. Sleep: You must train body to sleep less and stay awake. Sleep drain your strength to pray. The truth is, some sleep is an attack. 3. Filthiness of the spirit and soul: Pornography, sex chat and impure thoughts are killers of prayer stamina. Your inner man would always be defeated by feeding your spirit man with filthy and erotic content. 4. Bad atmosphere: Atmosphere you create and find yourself matter a lot. If you're among prayer weaklings, gossip and carnal believers your prayer fire will die. Gossip and backbite would frustrate you. 5. Poor feeding of your inner man. *DAILY DEW 24/NOVEMBER/2023* *Keep Your Underwear On* _Key Bible Text:_ *"And you are to make them linen trousers, covering their bodies from the middle to the knee.#* (Exodus 28:42 (BBE)) _Bible Insight:_ God told priests to make linen trousers to cover their nakedness. Anytime they would come to minister at the altar, they had to wear undergarments, or else they would die (Ex 28:42-43). Undergarments are what we wear under what others see. We are God’s royal priesthood. Today, the same dress code applies to us. We must wear garments of praise and put on love and spiritual armor. But what about our spiritual undergarments? The purity of the heart is that spiritual undergarment. As with undergarments, they are not visible to others, so it is with purity. Purity is an issue of the heart. God expects us to be pure in the heart (something others can’t see) (Mt 5:8; Ps 24:4). Purity is more than abstaining from sexual sin. Just because you’re a virgin doesn’t mean you are pure. Also, just because you’re not dating or married doesn’t mean you are pure. Virginity lasts until you get married, but purity is for life. Purity is a heart issue - what others don’t see. - Purity is not a point you reach but a pursuit after God. - Purity is a heart issue, not a sex issue. - Purity matters. Every progress made in education and career always often involves a dutiful and diligent pursuit of the goal that demands constant exposure to information and activities that sharpens a life towards its desired end. That is why as children, we went to school EVERY DAY learning Alphabet until we became indoctrinated enough to write and speak. All that the Bible says of the Disciples of Jesus are true and valid but when Disciples begin to act as visiting lecturers and tourists, we shouldn't expect any tangible transformation because the devotion that conforms to the image of the Son cannot be substituted with passive following and fluctuating commitment that modern Christianity has become characterized by. We can't give wretched time and attention to the things of God and wonder why we scarcely experience all the goodies that were promised in the Covenant. But will oppose any emphasis on submission, discernment, separation, consecration, and fervency that makes Christianity appear too radical. Satan is not going to completely oppose "godliness" He's fine with you enjoying the "Santa-Christ", He's fine with you wearing your church clothes and speaking your church slangs. He's fine with you being cool and nice like the "friend of Sinners" version of Jesus. Many are in more than one category and what is common to all three is that although they may know and remember some scriptures usually when they want to support their choices, but have somehow forsaken the truth of the Bible and are far from the word of God. This is what the first Psalm addresses where it says Blessed is the man that 1. Walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly 2. Nor standeth in the way of sinners 3. Nor sitteth in the seat of mockers But his DELIGHT is in the law of the Lord and in His law does he meditate day and night. I love the words of Bishop Oyedepo where he said "One thing is needful. Whatever day the study of the bible is substituted for any other spiritual hobby; We are finished. Because we have a new generation of believers that think that fun is what makes a new generation. That is a new degeneration." FIRST OF ALL, PRAYERS be made. Prayer is a priority for the Believer, never an option. Then it says IN PRAYER, there's a priority...WHO/WHAT to pray FOR. For ALL MEN! So FIRST OF ALL, you are to pray for ALL MEN, not yourself. All Men FIRST! ALL MEN includes Kings, leaders, all those in authority or any form of influence. What should I pray for them about? See verse 3... It introduces God as our SAVIOUR, not a PROVIDER. So this is a matter of SALVATION! Verse 4 gave further clarity...that ALL MEN be SAVED. So FIRST OF ALL, I will pray. The Angel also told Peter what he MUST do. Cornelius represents the unbeliever. Peter represents the believers. The Believer has an exclusive responsibility towards the unbeliever. The unbeliever cannot know what he OUGHT to do by himself. While Cornelius has something he's SUPPOSED to do, there's something Peter is SUPPOSED to be DOING. The reason you are saved and left here is because of those yet to be saved. We exist for the salvation of unsaved men. So every unbeliever out there is an emergency yet to be attended to. As long we have them out there, the work is not done, friends. *DAILY DEW 17/NOVEMBER/2023* *Achan and Rahab* (1) _Key Bible Text:_ *"But the children of Israel committed a trespass in the accursed thing: for Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took of the accursed thing: and the anger of the LORD was kindled against the children of Israel."* (Joshua 7:1 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ I want to tell you a story about two different people. Both stories come from the Old Testament and provide a contrast in behavior that I want to use in describing our relationship with the Holy Spirit. Two stories. Two different people. One was hiding something, and the other was hiding someone. One had a promising future, and the other faced certain doom. One was a soldier, while the other was a prostitute. One destroyed his family, while the other saved her family. One brought defeat to the nation while the other was used to save the nation. You have probably figured out who I am talking about – Achan and Rahab. These stories happened simultaneously in the Book of Joshua. While their stories happen in the same place and time, these individuals couldn’t be more different from each other.
