*DAILY DEW 16/SEPTEMBER/2023* *Dare To Be A Person Of Integrity* _Key Bible Text:_ *"He going in integrity shall go confidently: and he perverting his ways shall be known."* (Proverbs 10:9 (SLT)) _Bible Insight:_ Integrity is fast becoming a rare commodity. There used to be a time when the church was well known for honesty and integrity. We cannot afford to join the rest of the world in the loss of identity. Integrity is our identity but this is fast becoming a thing of the past. This is one area you and I must rise and shine the light again in the midst of the darkness. The other day, I was given a job to do by one of my clients. It involves a company change of name. It was my first time. So when I started the process, I had to subcontract to another person to help me finish up. This became necessary because the law firm I worked with then did not allow me enough time to run around for my own side briefs. Since I was still in full employment in a law firm and I felt I wouldn't have all the time to give the job the concentration it deserved, I subcontracted it. After about a year, the person couldn't make much progress. Not happy about that, I collected the job and continued to do it myself. I met another man who claimed to be so good at it. He boasted that he could handle it. Again, I paid him just to fast track the process, or so I thought. Once again, this second man also failed me. He was worse than the first man even. Finally, I took over the job, handled all queries and eventually got the certificate. It took me over two years to handle that challenge. There had been days I thought about returning the file and apologizing to the client that I couldn't handle it. I couldn't imagine myself doing that. I delivered the certificate and when I asked for my balance it was not paid, I just let go and preferred to preserve the relationship I had with the client. Apart from telling someone what you will do, or not do, anything else you say, such as swearing or trying hard to convince them, show that something evil is likely in the offing. God wants us to be people who are believable and reliable. This is the greatest challenge facing all who want to stand out as the light. *DAILY DEW 15/SEPTEMBER/2023* *Light vs Darkness* (II) _Key Bible Text:_ *"And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day."* (Genesis 1:3-5 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ The evidence of light is obvious; it illuminates and chases out darkness without apologizing or negotiating. The evidence of darkness is equally obvious; it covers everything with a certain discomforting presence. It is easy to recognize darkness once there is no light, you will know what darkness looks like. A lot of things are not going right in this world because a lot of people are filled with darkness. Darkness is controlling but light gives true freedom. Darkness is a spirit and light is a spirit also. The greatest battlefield remains that of the mind. The mind of an individual is the battleground where forces of light and darkness collide and clash in attacks and counter-attacks. In Genesis 1:2 (KJV), it is written that the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. God felt the darkness as He moved on the face of the waters. In order to send a counteractive force against darkness, the bible said he declared light into existence. He created it. Dear friend, observe that God created light to oppose darkness. Light is to destroy darkness. God didn't complain about darkness even though there was no time we read that darkness was created. _MEDITATION:_ *"Most times you will never be able to trace where darkness came from, but you will just see that darkness is operating. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God."* (John 3:19-21 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ The fight is raging on. It is taking place even when there is no declared war. It is taking place in the Middle East with rivals fighting and the world powers trying to fight terrorism or so they claim. It is taking place in families. It is taking place in your workplace. It is taking place in churches. It is taking place on campuses. It is taking place in the cities, in the slums, in the highbrow areas, in the villages, everywhere. This fight is nothing but the fight between light and darkness. If you have darkness in you, it will spread to everything else around you. If you have light in you, that light will also shine all around you. Don't be careless with what you allow into your mind. What we see with our eyes stays long in our minds. Do you know the enemy has a game plan to pollute your mind and distract you from your consecration to God? These things are not out there by accident o. We don't get corrupted when we do the act, the corruption starts from our minds. Don't give the devil a play ground in your soul! If you have fallen into sinful sexual habits, don't hide. Sin festers and grows in the dark. Become accountable to spiritual leadership and mentorship, preferably someone of the same sex. "Michael Brown", "Curry Blake", "Paul Washer" and Gbile Akani sound like Nonexistent Latin Legends in our ears but we know so much about the names, record labels, girlfriends, side chics and travel tours of many secular musicians. No one is asking you to be be ignorant of your surroundings but how do up justify being a Christian but being so unaware of those who should be role models and sources of inspiration yet so aware and familiar with merchants of carnal living? We keep acting like the God of the Bible is a scam meanwhile we are so in love with this world and so devoted to a million idols in a way that takes the bulk of our affection and attention. Modern Christians should be fair enough to just admit that God isn't a priority. *DAILY DEW 11/SEPTEMBER/2023* *Eat Before Going* _Key Bible Text:_ *"When you meet together, one person has a song, and another has a teaching. Another has a new truth from God. Another speaks in a different language, and another person interprets that language. The purpose of all these things should be to help the church grow strong."* (1 Corinthians 14:26 New Century Version (NCV)) _Bible Insight:_ We were taught to eat before going to any party so that your eyes won't be on the food. So that you won't get angry when the food does not reach you on time, or at all. So that if the food comes, you are fine, and if it somehow misses you, you are fine. So that you can enjoy the event without distraction. It will be good if good food reaches you but you are not dependent on it. It is the delicious extra that comes on what you have already eaten. That is how church should be for every Christian. The beautiful extra. Your personal walk with God should be so healthy that whether the word hits you or goes over your head, whether the pastor preaches sense or nonsense, you will be fine. You can enjoy serving God without distraction. It would be good if there was a word for you every Sunday, but you are not dependent on it. It is the glorious icing on the cake of your vital relationship with God. 70% of what God is doing in your life should be in the secret place. 30% or less should be the public worship. When this is so, you will always overflow. You will never burn out. You will not have ups and downs. When others are angry and offended, your peace and joy will flow like a river. *DAILY DEW 10/SEPTEMBER/2023* *Pursue Purity* _Key Bible Text:_ *"Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart."* (2 Timothy 2:22 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ Five things you must understand about purity include: 1. Purity is not a point we cross; it's an ongoing pursuit. Purity is found in the pursuit of God's presence. If you are not after God, you are not going to be pure. 2. Replace "weakness" with "wickedness" when dealing with lust. Our biggest issue is that we misdiagnose our problem. We call sexual sin a "weakness" instead of what it is – wickedness. We call it "defeat" instead of "disobedience." Therefore, we are "working on it" instead of "repenting." 3. Control what you consume. What we watch, listen to, and read can bring contamination to our hearts, causing them to be far from purity. 4. Flee lust; don't flirt with it or fight it. The Bible doesn't call us to fight lust but to flee it. Lust is stronger than you - you can't win. God's remedy is to RUN! Like Joseph did. The reason why many don't flee lust is because they lack fear of God. 5. Your tribe determines your vibe. Purity thrives within a godly community. Your environment is crucial. Bananas don't grow in Alaska due to the climate. And I want all of you to share that joy."* (Philippians 2:16-17) _Bible Insight:_ Convenience, comfort, circumstances and situations are underated deadly enemies of the faith of the Lord Jesus Christ. To *"Hold firmly to the word of life"* is one piece of advice that will be very difficult for anyone who loves convenience, comfort and circumstances & situations. Life is designed to get in your way until you are determined to push your way through. Waiting for convenience or favourable circumstances before you do the needful is a recipe for failure and/or under performance. The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it. -- Luke 16:16 (KJV) Pressing, sacrifice and service are key non-negotiable elements of kingdom life or Christ centered living. It is the work of the Pastor in charge of the flock. Special meetings carry much intensity as we sit for hours learning God's word and praying and yes, there can be great experiences powerful enough to position the church for more growth, *however, it's the regular weekly meetings that give depth to the flock.* Hence, the Pastor cannot outsource the growth of the members to guest ministers. He must be well trained and grounded to train men. Annual conventions and camp meetings are great but the church doesn't grow mainly on these. Also, when the people aren't aware of this, they honor guest ministers who show up once a year while despising those who labour over them every week by not showing up well for the meetings. _MEDITATION:_ *Ministry is the Father's business We have been called to mind this It must be done with every sense of urgency, And with much dedication & consistency. Sound doctrine, prayer, discipleship, fellowship, witnessing, are things that build lasting works. We must always set our minds on these! It's always disastrous when money amplifies what's weak in substance. If the ministry isn't impactful without money, the minister shouldn't be thinking of money.
