*DAILY DEW 13/JULY/2023* *Keys 🔐 to Operate in the Anointing* _Key Bible Text:_ *“And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover."* (Mark 16:17-18 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ 1. Have a Solid Foundation The most important thing for a believer to have before they operate in the power of God is a firm foundation in their walk with Christ. One of the most dangerous things someone can do is jump into ministry and try to operate in the anointing without having a solid foundation. 2. Receive an Impartation If you want to receive an impartation from God, you must first serve the purpose of God. Learn to serve with the capacity that God has given you. If you skip this step, you risk receiving an impartation, but nothing happening afterward. 3. Beware of Fear and Timidity These feelings are big blockages for the flow of the anointing. As a person who desires to be used by God, one of the hindrances that satan will try to use is fear. Know that sometimes you will minister out of faith, and other times you’ll minister out of obedience to God’s command. 4. Association Matters Your environment is HUGE regarding developing what’s been deposited within you. Get close to anointed men and women of God who can push you to grow. Often, when they point out weaknesses or character flaws within us, God uses that to catapult our development. 5. Yield to God The anointing is for deployment. *DAILY DEW 12/JULY/2023* *COMPASSION Compression* _Key Bible Text:_ *“Jesus wept"* (John 11:35 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ If the man with a solution had compassion why should people with no solution have no compassion too? 😥 JESUS had the solution. Jesus always has a solution. But he had lots of compassion too. He wept for Lazarus even when he came purposely to bring solution-- These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep. (John 11:11 (KJV)) We live in a troubled world. We have so many many challenges and problems with little or no solutions. Solutions have never equalled the demand of problems. Problems have exceeded the supply of solutions. Solutions is so much in short supply compared to its demand. Sadly every solution comes with a "follow come" challenge or problem. If you want admission, you must pass well. If you gain the admission, you must pay tuition fees, feeding fees, books and other resources- problem! Even the student loan newly passed into law in Nigeria may be more of a problem than a solution for the problem it was brought to deal with. Problem! You turn left- problem. You turn right -problem. You do good. Problem. You fail to do good. Problem. Guess what? The biggest problem in all is that we have problem with showing compassion. In fact, the compassion tank of most people are either completely empty or at its lowest level. We need to fill up our compassion tanks. If the man with a solution had compassion why should people with no solution have no compassion too? 😥 When we retrain our minds against all odds to show compassion especially when that is all we can do, we will begin to force open the possibilities of a miracle. As a matter of fact, compassionate people are solution driven people. Every real good work has been done as a compassionate response. The more compassion God sees in you over the challenges and problems you see around you, the more you give God additional reasons to bless you and make a miraculous solution for you to meet those needs. Stop the compassion compression. *DAILY DEW 11/JULY/2023* *"The Mary Method"* _Key Bible Text:_ *“And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her."* (Luke 10:41-42 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ Life is busy running so fast like a mad man chasing nothing. Today runs fast like in a relay race, trying to give the batton of time over to tomorrow, who soon follows the example of yesterday who gave the batton to today! Everyone is in a frenzy trying to catch up. And when we finally catch our breath, we are sorry or worry over the death of someone, whose exit from the race forces us to a hurried pause: wondering if there was a meaning to it all. But then, soon afterwards, we go again at it. Running hard to catch up. It is this thing called the rat race. The system is filled with every reason to keep the chase. We are running a race that actually needs grace but we are often too busy, to come bodly before the throne of grace. Is it not *"that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need"?* But the one need we need to heed we skip. We needed to have paused in ponder of His grace, which come not but by knowing knowledge. Peter said it: *"Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,"* 2 Peter 1:2 (KJV) Peter said it. Jesus said it first. Mary understood it. Martha understood it at last. Will you not also understand it? *But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.* That's the Mary Method! The Mary Method is to take calculated and highly necessary breaks from time to time to just be with the fountain of grace. *DAILY DEW 10/JULY/2023* *Practicing Humility* _Key Bible Text:_ *“Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am. If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet. For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you."* (John 13:13‭-‬15 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ It is in the nature of humans to desires greatness. Men measures greatness by wealth, fame, achievements, power, etc. However with every measure of greatness and achievement, comes the default setting of humans to boast with pride. That feeling of satisfaction that comes with promotion or achievement also has a "follow come" feeling of pride! This tendency for example creates talks and phrases like "self made", "proud achiever", "proud of you", "proudly Nigerian" or proudly whatever. The more dangerous version of this trend, is that with growth of influence and affluence comes the rising tendency in humans to (love to) be worshiped and served. Some nurse these tendencies and desires secretly in false show of humility. While many throw all caution away and express their desire to be worshiped or praised and served. Some even go as far as inflicting pain or punishment on those who fail to worship or serve or praise them. Remember, Mordecai and Haman? (Esther 7-10) Even more pathetic is that humans, including those with nothing of striking influence or affluence also parade themselves with pride. It is natural. It is the human nature. Pride is human! Humility is divine. God desires a different template than what men desire and are prone to. For every true follower of Jesus, our path and style must be one of humility. Say no to pride! Pride kills. It is God's laid down standard, that the more we rise in life, the more we must strive to stay humble. In fact, with more achievements, we must deliberately do things that will punch and pinch our ego and force us to not only remember Christ's example, but to replicate and represent Him. With more success, with more answered prayers, with more promotions, with more money and influence, intentionally do things that will keep you humble. Create a system or habits that will push you towards humility and not allow you to sway towards pride. Humility is like moving against the current. *DAILY DEW 9/JULY/2023* *VERIFIABLE SERVICE IS VERIBALE CALLING* _Key Bible Text:_ *“As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away."* (Acts 13:2-3 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ One of the absolute strangest things that I have observed in church circles over the years is people who launch themselves into ministry who were never even serving in their local church consistently. Sir, how is God now calling you to plant a church when you have literally sat in a church for years and never served or sacrificed? The giving records show you never tithed and the attendance record shows your commitment was sporadic. But now suddenly you are a pastor or apostle with a calling from God? Mam, how have you now launched an international women’s ministry when you were known to operate in the jezebel spirit at your church for years? You sowed division and gossip locally but now God has anointed you for the nations? Young people with a calling to ministry, how has God now called you into a new season when you were never faithful to your pastor in the old season? You never even served him while he answered his calling and now you are mad because he won’t bless you into yours? To those who faithfully served in the local church, submitted to church leadership, and then stepped out when it was your time, I applaud you. Your patience and endurance to a process will give you longevity in ministry. To those who launched yourself into ministry without having a prior history of sacrifice and service to another church or ministry, you are headed for a rude awakening. You Get Equipped to Serve, Give, and Lead The extradordinary thing about the state of modern day “Christianity” is that by following these five simple steps, you are either labeled radical or bound by religion. “God doing a new thing” apparently destroys basic New Testament teaching and practice. (Let him that reads understand- there is no other new things God will do different from the Acts example of the church life which confirms the above five steps. No solo christian or "I don't do church" christianity as far as God is concerned) I so appreciate all the different expressions of the kingdom of God online and around the world, but as a Christian, you need to find a spiritual family and follow steps 3-5. It’s not that complex. Yes, you can visit and be a part of the millions of conferences, e-courses, revival services, and youtube channels that are available in the body of Christ, but NONE of these replace your need for one church family that you eat at their table every week, serve in, and church leaders who you walk in relationship with that can vouch for your family and marriage. _MEDITATION:_ *"Beware of the vagabond spirit. *DAILY DEW 7/JULY/2023* *THE ERROR OF BALAAM* (VII) _Key Bible Text:_ *“But godliness with contentment is great gain.For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content."* (1 Timothy 6:6-8 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ FINANCIAL CONTENTMENT AND GENEROSITY. To be clear: my point is not to tell you that you all should be sinking more money into our church, though it’s nice when we can pay the bills. My point is much broader than that. It has to do with a heart and a lifestyle committed to generously sharing what God has given us, and in the process freeing ourselves from the love of money, which is crouching at our door and gunning for our souls. · I know many of you have been sharing your money with people in our church and our community in ways that will never show up on a spreadsheet. Well done. The state of your hearts are reflected in the distribution of your hands. · Over the past 4 months, we have kept our modest food pantry stocked, and our church budget is healthier than it’s been in a while. Giving has gone up in time of crisis. Well done. The state of your hearts are reflected in the distribution of your hands. That’s a really good sign, biblically. If, when the going gets tough financially for us or our neighbor, and we are looking for ways to be more generous rather than less – I think that’s a sign that the love of money has not taken root in our hearts. So, as with Cain, God shows us the way out. Balaam is a warning, but warnings are useless unless they tell us what we can do. God’s revelation is clear: be content and generous. If love covers a multitude of sins, the opposite of love of money helps us avoid a multitude of sins. _MEDITATION:_ *"The last 4 months have shown that we have generous hearts in our church family. *DAILY DEW 4/JULY/2023* *THE ERROR OF BALAAM* (IV) _Key Bible Text:_ *“There are some among you who hold to the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to entice the Israelites to sin so that they ate food sacrificed to idols and committed sexual immorality."* ((Revelation 2:14)) _Bible Insight:_ REPENT OR PERISH! In a late battle when he fought with the Midianites against the Israelites, Balaam was slain by the ones he had endeavored to curse. Remember, Balaam is the donkey, but he didn’t learn. “Take heed. If you don’t turn aside, God will kill you.” In this case, his path took him right into a battle against the people of God, and it cost him his life. Balaam: · like Cain, believes in God, goes against God’s will, and talks with God about it. · Unlike Cain, repents and becomes an instrument of God’s blessing! · Like Cain, it doesn't change his heart, and he destroys his brothers. So what is the error or the wandering of Balaam? Selling out or exploiting God’s people for financial gain. · Jude associates Balaam with the selling of one’s soul for financial gain (Jude 1:11). · Peter compares false teachers to Balaam, “who loved the wages of wickedness” (2 Peter 2:15). · Paul refers to that incident in 1 Corinthians 10:8: “We should not commit sexual immorality, as some of them did—and in one day twenty-three thousand of them died.” They “rushed for profit” into Balaam’s error, which was telling Balak how to undermine the Israelites with sex and idolatry. The error or the wandering of Balaam was selling out or exploiting God’s people for financial gain. *DAILY DEW 3/JULY/2023* *THE ERROR OF BALAAM* (III) _Key Bible Text:_ *"Behold, I have received commandment to bless: and he hath blessed; and I cannot reverse it.He hath not beheld iniquity in Jacob, neither hath he seen perverseness in Israel: the LORD his God is with him, and the shout of a king is among them.."* (Numbers 23:20-21 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ FROM CURSING TO BLESSING And Balaam, unlike Cain, owns it. “I have sinned. I will go back if you want me to.” The angel then repeated to Balaam the instruction that he was only to speak what God told him to speak concerning the Hebrews. In Moab, King Balak took the prophet Balaam up to a high place called Bamoth Baal, from where he could see all of Israel, and told him to curse the Israelites (Numbers 22:41). But Balaam gives a blessing on Israel: “How can I curse those whom God has not cursed? How can I denounce those whom the Lord has not denounced?” King Balak had him try again from Mount Pisgah (where God takes Moses so he can see the land of promise before he dies). Balaam again spoke a blessing: “I have received a command to bless; he has blessed, and I cannot change it.” Balak tries one more time on the top of Mt. Peor. Then “the Spirit of God came on him and he spoke his message” (Numbers 24:2–3) :“How beautiful are your tents, Jacob, your dwelling places, Israel!”[9] Balak told Balaam: “Go home. Thanks to your God, you don’t get the money.” Balaam reminded the king that he had said from the very beginning he could only say what God told him to say. But…. Balaam advised Balak to go after Israel with prostitutes and idolatry. Israel would bring a curse upon themselves. In Numbers 25, we find that the women of Midian began to seduce the men of Israel to sexual sin and to sacrifice to their gods. Israel began worshiping Baal of Peor (Pero, the last mountain on which Balaam stood) _MEDITATION:_ *"Often times we worry over external enemies, thinking that is where the danger lies. *DAILY DEW 2/JULY/2023* *THE ERROR OF BALAAM* (II) _Key Bible Text:_ *"And the angel of the LORD said unto him, Wherefore hast thou smitten thine ass these three times? behold, I went out to withstand thee, because thy way is perverse before me: And the ass saw me, and turned from me these three times: unless she had turned from me, surely now also I had slain thee, and saved her alive."* (Numbers 22:32-33 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ BENT ON CURSING Balak then sent more distinguished officials, apparently assuming Balaam was playing hard to get, and promised a fantastic reward. This time God said, “Go with them, but do only what I tell you” (verse 20). Note something: God already told Balaam not to do it. Balaam didn’t need to ask again. Now God is going to use Balaam’s desire for money as a means of having God’s blessing spoken over Israel. So Balaam tells them God has given him permission. It’s true, but not honest. Surely the officials believe that means God has given Balaam permission to curse the Israelites. The next morning, Balaam saddled his donkey and left for Moab (Numbers 22:21). God sent an angel to oppose Balaam on the way. The donkey could see the angel, but Balaam could not, and when the donkey three times moves to avoid the angel (one time crushing Balaam’s ankle), Balaam was angry and beat the animal (if we are going to compare Balaam and Moses – like Moses struck the rock). “Then the Lord opened the donkey’s mouth,” and it rebuked Balaam. “Then the Lord opened Balaam’s eyes, and he saw the angel of the Lord standing in the road with his sword drawn.” I think – I think - this is what the prophet Nathan did to king David when he told him the parable of the sheep: “Thou art the man.” I think Balaam is the donkey. God is opposing him because his path is reckless. “Balaam – take heed. If you don’t turn aside, God will kill you.” _MEDITATION:_ *"The fundamental mockery of Balaam is obvious. The one perceived to be able to control the Israelites with words could not even control his donkey with a stick.
