*DAILY DEW 18/SEPTEMBER/2023* *Dare To Be A Person Of Integrity* (III) _Key Bible Text:_ *"Don't hurt your friend, don't blame your neighbor."* (Psalms 15:3 (The Message)) _Bible Insight:_ 2. Doing no wrong to your friend & spreading no rumour about your neighbours. Integrity demands that you do to others what you would love them to do to you. Integrity demands that you treat others how you will have them treat you. When you treat others wrongly, it shows that you do not walk in integrity because you will preach against people treating others wrongly and yet you are doing so yourself. I read a headline recently and it was:- "Osinbajo Preaches Righteousness But Refuses To Condemn DSS' Continued Detention Of Sowore." When I took a closer look, the opening thoughts of the article were:- "Vice President Yemi Osinbajo says integrity and forthrightness are hallmarks of genuine Christians but he has refused to condemn the continued illegal detention of pro-democracy activist, Omoyele Sowore, by the Department of State Services. He also failed to berate the DSS for refusing to obey court orders granting Sowore's release." If you are conversant with the case of Sowore's arrest along with one of his followers, named Mandate, you will see where the writer of that article is coming from. You can see that doing no wrong to one's friend or even enemy is definitely a challenge of integrity. This link between treating others right and standing up for others rather than doing them wrong or watch wrong being meted out to them, when you are supposed to have some level of influence to make it right or at least condemn the act, is equally a matter of integrity. Likewise, spreading rumours about your neighbours is also doing wrong to such neighbours and, therefore, is an indication of a lack of integrity. We must do well to seriously review our conducts in the light of this challenge for integrity if we must sincerely walk in the light and fight off darkness. _MEDITATION:_ *"Lack of integrity is the root cause of people changing their minds about promises they have made without care.
