*DAILY DEW 28/OCTOBER/2023* *TONGUES* (II) _Key Bible Text:_ *"When the most High divided to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the sons of Adam, he set the bounds of the people according to the number of the children of Israel. For the LORD'S portion is his people; Jacob is the lot of his inheritance."* (Deuteronomy 32:8-9 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ So the very existence of different languages was a direct result of the judgement of God against men’s rebellion. The judgement was an act of mercy as it gave way for Gods redemption plan to materialize. So differing languages didn’t allow the tribes understand each other thus limiting their cooperation. All these tribes where 70 in number (reference Gen 11:10-30) In Gen 11 , God gave up these rebellious tribes to idolatry , allowing them go after fallen angels who they worshipped and served. So God gave up these nations which we now call gentiles and chose one man callednAbraham to begin the Gen 1:26 mandate with. It is why after Gen 11 the very next chapter is an introduction to the faith walk of Abraham. (See Gen 12:1-2) Gods plan was to eventually win those gentile, rebellious nations back through Abraham. So God said to Abraham in Gen 12:3b, *"and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed."* This promise was fulfilled in the redemptive work of Jesus Christ. In Acts 2 God was announcing to the nations that it was time for their salvation.
