BOUNCE BACK
_Key Bible Text:_
*"And he said, While the child was yet alive, I fasted and wept: for I said, Who can tell whether GOD will be gracious to me, that the child may live?"* (2 Samuel 12:22 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
Life will not always go our way. When the consequences of sin catches up with us, it is not a time to say "God why?", it is a time to say, "God you are still good!"
God is good and His judgments are always good. First, let's not assume the negative but we hold up till the very final outcome. David prayed with fastings to save the child but alas he must die. He knew it was God's judgment but yet he fasted in the hope that God's mercy will triumph over God's judgment.
This is unlike Eli. He heard of God's judgment, and all he could say was very unexpected: *"And Samuel told him every whit, and hid nothing from him. And he said, It is the LORD: let him do what seemeth him good."* (1 Samuel 3:18 (KJV))
When God reveals something negative, even if our hands or acts have brought it upon us, we should be like David, and first seek to provoke mercy in repentance, fastings and or prayers. God is merciful and He sees and knows all things.
Even when we must go through some difficult judgment from God, if we truly repent and seek His face fervently, God knows how to make it up for us.
