*DAILY DEW 1/APRIL/2024* *NEW LIFE BEFORE NEW RULES* _Key Bible Text:_ *"As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent."* (John 17:2-3 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ Religious rules and regulations are great. For where there are no rules, disorder is very likely. But rules are not the first thing in our relationship with God. The first thing is a new life. God gave us His Son so that whosoever believes in Him will receive this new life: the God-kind of life. This makes us a new specie of human beings. A new race created to be like Him, to think like Him, and to act like Him. Giving Christian rules to a person who doesn't have eternal life is like asking a dead man to obey your rules. What you will get is frustrations and disappointments! The change cannot be real. It will be like forcing a person to comply. That's what happens with dead religion.. So what God did was to give us His life, His nature, His very own DNA, what we call ETERNAL LIFE! In Christ, we become children of God. Now when we let this divine life govern our thoughts, words, and actions, we will not struggle with righteous rules and regulations. They will flow from within.
