In like manner, at the close of his ministry on earth as a man, Jesus gave a final instruction that summed up the essence of His work on earth. But God did not stop there. He said... Whenever you seek wisdom and understanding, you gain even much more, including riches, wealth and honour. Prudent people cultivate a passionate desire to gain knowledge, wisdom and understanding. *DAILY DEW 23/NOVEMBER/2024* *Pride & Foolish Talking* _Key Bible Text:_ *"In the mouth of the foolish is a rod of pride: but the lips of the wise shall preserve them."* Proverbs 14:3 (KJV) _Bible Insight_ Nabal's foolish response to David's men, eventually led to his early grave. If you won't help, you can as well politely refuse to help. Instead, when asked for a favor, Nabal retorted, *"David? Who is he? I've never heard of him! The country is full of runaway slaves nowadays! I'm not going to take my bread and water, and the animals I have butchered for my sheepshearers, and give them to people who come from I don't know where!"* That was not a decline to help, that was an insult & a go-to-hell tell off. He thought he was wise & having fun but he didn't know his foolish pride had sealed his destruction. His wife, Abigail tried to save him but it was too late.
