*DAILY DEW 21/JANUARY/2024* Divine Guidance 5 _Key Bible Text:_ *"Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near unto thee."* (Psalms 32:9 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ To secure divine guidance, you must desist from talking too much or uncontrollably. Refrain from always trying to share the little you know. Humility shown in self retraint is the signal that tells God that you are ready for divine guidance. You cannot always be full of words to share and be able to hear God's voice when he speaks. Worst still, you will be too busy talking and sharing that you will not seek God's guidance nor perceive when he sends one even "unsolictedly". Your ability to tame your tongue and resist the urge to share even if you know, will strategically position you to learn and receive more. And in the process, divine guidance comes along too. Don't be a tongue- trigger happy teacher. Be a happy-to-listen student. One more thing, practice listening prayer. Don't pray by always talking. Pray by also listening. For prayer is a two way communication exercise. *DAILY DEW 19/JANUARY/2024* Divine Guidance 3 _Key Bible Text:_ *"For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him."* (Psalms 32:6 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ To secure divine guidance, you must first learn to adopt an attitude that is proactive in seeking the face of God. Those who make a habit of seeking counsel from God when they are yet to take a course of their choice, are those that God is committed to making himself available to. God is merciful and may be found when we seek him as a last resort, but we would have missed out of the essence of divine guidance which is to give you strategic advantage that will shield you from the waters and floods of challenges. *"Surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him."* Learn to make God your first point of call. Learn to prioritize seeking the mind of God. Yes, use your brain but not to the point of thinking you can replace the need to seek God first. There is a time when we will find God when we pray. It is they that seek God early that shall find him. You can't know it all. You will always need someone to help you with one information or the other. Above all, there is a master guide, who can put you through all your guidance needs. The problem is not so much that many try to figure it out all by themselves. The problem is that many do not always know who to go to for help and even when they know, seems not to always know how to. Above all, there is one who is not only approachable but longs for you and I to come to him for guidance. He is the surest plug but yet many do not realize this. But can all who agree that God is the surest guide also tell how they have practically enjoyed God's leading? Have you enjoyed God's leading in the past? Are you currently enjoying God's leading? Do you trust God's divine guidance? *DAILY DEW 16/JANUARY/2024* The Folly In Man!! 5 _Key Bible Text:_ *"Therefore I make a decree, That every people, nation, and language, which speak any thing amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made a dunghill: because there is no other God that can deliver after this sort."* (Daniel 3:29 (KJV) _Bible Insight:_ The real lesson we all fail to learn is that we never learn until it is late! Sadly! One would think that the King would now repent for real. Again, Daniel and his colleagues had proven again that Nebuchadnezzar is but a king of folly! Yet, the king would still fail to learn. His own decree that anyone who says any thing amiss against God would be cut in pieces and their houses made a dunghill became a prophecy that would register against him. He had another dream and this time, he no longer was seen as a golden head of a great image but a great tree that would be cut down. He was warned to becareful but alas he never learned. Just twelve months after, he opened his mouth to exhibit folly, but God had had enough! The decree of his own mouth was executed against him but this time, by God sent law enforcement agents. He was cut in pieces until he was left as an animal literally. And his own house became the dunghill of the forest where he grew and ran around like a mad beast with long hairs and nails. Man would always think too much of himself. We think we can outsmart God. We think we are wiser than God. What a shame. *DAILY DEW 15/JANUARY/2024* The Folly In Man!! 4 _Key Bible Text:_ *"Therefore because the king's commandment was urgent, and the furnace exceeding hot, the flame of the fire slew those men that took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego."* (Daniel 3:22 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ Zeal without knowledge is a disease that is deadly. Likewise, knowledge without zeal is even worse but Knowledge controlled by wisdom is the best. For wisdom is always justified by her children. Man's folly lies in his quickness to follow passionately vain men and men who by rather fallen standards are considered successful and desirable to be followed. A following that's both senseless and sycophantic. Fire is dangerous enough. What haste from the command of a power drunk king would make you hurry so much that you hurry to your own death!? I weep for the likes of Jonathan whose inability to "unfollow" his father, saul, led him to a rather untimely and avoidable death! *DAILY DEW 14/JANUARY/2024* The Folly In Man!! 3 _Key Bible Text:_ *"Then an herald cried aloud, To you it is commanded, O people, nations, and languages, That at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king hath set up"* (Daniel 3:4-5 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ The great zeal mankind put into the pursuit of luxury and vanity is another confirmation of the folly in man! Man's folly lies in his quickness to insist on things that are highly unnecessary and vain glorious. When man get power drunk as he is wont to do, he insists on things that are simply wasteful or like they say, white-elephant-project like. It is disappointing enough that the golden image was built in the first place. Recall that only the head of the image was actually made of Gold and was set to represent the era of this ungrateful King. In his own statue, he built everything of gold. A silent but obvious rebellion and protest that only the head of the image was gold. The entire image should be gold-- hence he built it. In his vain mind, a dream is not as powerful as something really tangible. He thought to "cancel" the dream by building an all gold statue. This is also a quiet attempt at resisting the opportunity for the stone carved out without hands to be able to smash the statue from the weak and maleable clay and iron feet as the dream foretold. The consequences of Nebuchadnezzar's stubborn and foolish ways will eventually catch up with him. *DAILY DEW 13/JANUARY/2024* The Folly In Man!! 2 _Key Bible Text:_ *"Nebuchadnezzar the king made an image of gold, whose height was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof six cubits: he set it up in the plain of Dura, in the province of Babylon.* (Daniel 3:1 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ The Idea of "The great image" rather than move the King to the worship of God, moved the king to the worship of Gold. What a great folly! Man's folly lies in his quickness to desire more than is necessary; coveteousness. The king would both forget who made Him and also desire to gain more fame, prominence, glory and even worship! This is very much typical of the human nature. The emilokans of this world have tasted it all, but yet they will always want more! To be able to draw the line between covetousness/greed and a healthy desire for more growth and expansion is great gain! Most people do not seem to know where to draw the line. *DAILY DEW 12/JANUARY/2024* The Folly In Man!! _Key Bible Text:_ *"Thou, O king, sawest, and behold a great image. This great image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before thee; and the form thereof was terrible."* (Daniel 2:31 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ "The great image" idea was from a disturbing dream King Nubechadnezzar had. He forgot the dream and needed a revelation of both the dream and the interpretation of it. He got both but unfortunately forgot who revealed the dream or how he got the interpretation. Man's folly lies in his quickness in forgetting who MADE him. Daniel's intervention saved the day. The king had to admit as follows: Daniel 2:47 (KJV) The king answered unto Daniel, and said, Of a truth it is, that your God is a God of gods, and a Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, seeing thou couldest reveal this secret. Before this, the king also did this:- Daniel 2:46 (KJV) Then the king Nebuchadnezzar fell upon his face, and worshipped Daniel, and commanded that they should offer an oblation and sweet odours unto him.
